Children will expand on the basics of knitting by practicing the skill of casting on and casting off. Using a knitted square, children will simply fold and sew to bring about Henny Penny's shape. This fun and simple craft makes a wonderful toy or gift for children and the basic skills learned can be reapplied to all sorts of other ideas. This is a beginning knitting class, but some prior knitting experience is best.

A wonderful addition to your Halloween traditions, join us in decorating Mexican Sugar Skulls! Sugar Skulls are a traditional Mexican folk art used in the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos (day of the dead). In honor of this ancient tradition the participants will decorate the skulls with colorful icing, beads, feathers, foil, and sequins in memory of loved ones who have passed. All ages welcome! Using brightly colored wool roving, warm sudsy water, and gentle hands. We will work to create a play ball of warm wool with a jingle bell tucked inside. This is a perfect next step in wet felting after our introduction to felting in September for young children, or can be an introduction for careful crafters as well.
